Ishii Koji Art Glass 'Ryumon' Flowing-Pattern Bowl, Signed Box

A hand-blown art glass bowl, 'Ryūmon' (flowing pattern), by Ishii Kōji, with its signed wooden box.

Ishii Kōji (1946–1996) was born in Chiba, graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts and later worked from a studio in Aomori. Japanese studio glass of his generation moved away from industrial production toward one-off pieces in which colour moves freely through the glass. In this bowl the flowing bands of colour make each view different.
