"Flower Engrave" Wall Object (M) — Wood & Mother-of-Pearl Inlay by Kim Na-im
$950.00
A round wall piece in which a flower is engraved into natural wood and inlaid with mother-of-pearl — a contemporary najeon work by Kim Na-im, offered through the Korea Craft & Design Foundation.
Traditional najeon lives on boxes and furniture; Kim Na-im takes the shell off the box and onto the wall. The flower is cut into the grain and filled with shell so it catches the light as you pass — in the maker's words, a way to keep a flower in view every day.
