Crackle-Free Inlaid Celadon Tea Bowl with Turtles by Jo Se-yeon — Icheon Ceramic Master
$795.00
A wide inlaid celadon tea bowl with turtle motifs, finished in a crackle-free glaze, by Bogwang Jo Se-yeon — a certified Icheon City Ceramic Master.
The turtle is East Asia's emblem of longevity. Most celadon crazes as it cools; a crackle-free (mu-gyunyeol) surface takes tight control of clay and glaze shrinkage, and gives the clean, jade-like depth Goryeo potters aimed for. Icheon, south of Seoul, is Korea's best-known pottery town.
