Buncheong Deombeong (Kohiki) Tea Bowl by Hong Jae-pyo — Wood-Fired
$1,450.00
A wood-fired buncheong tea bowl in the deombeong manner — dipped whole into white slip — by Tojeong Hong Jae-pyo.
Deombeong leaves drips, finger marks and soft edges where the dark clay shows through the white. Japanese tea masters called these 16th-century Korean bowls kohiki, "powder-coated," and ranked them among the great Korean tea bowls. Fired in a wood kiln, this one carries its own ash and flame marks.
